Houston Farris, CFEI
Houston Farris, CFEI, joined our team in early 2025 as a Senior Forensic Specialist and provides consulting services in the areas of construction defect investigations including intrusive testing, building envelope investigations, grading & drainage evaluations, fire/explosion origin & cause, storm damage evaluations, and vehicle impact damage assessments, as well as property condition assessments.
Houston has over 20 years of combined experience in various roles that include time as a Forensic Engineering Specialist, Claim Representative (SIU), Fire Investigator and Technical Construction Inspector.
His areas of specialty as a Senior Forensic Specialist include roofing and façade systems, cladding systems, framing and structural support systems, civil engineering projects, fire origin & cause, and litigation support.
Houston has also worked professionally as Claim Representative within the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) for a national Insurance carrier and was responsible for conducting investigations into claims exhibiting suspicious conditions.
Houston has also earned the designation of a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) from the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). Further, he has also earned the qualification of a Fire Investigator through the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) and is registered as a Fire Investigator with The Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP).
Houston has worked alongside Professional Engineers and Architects for many years, providing field investigations, collection and analyzing of data, research and reporting and other forms of support to include litigation preparation.
Houston holds an Associate’s degree from the University of Maryland, and is a proud veteran of the United States Army, having spent 8 years on active duty in various locations throughout the world.
