Mary Jean McCarthy-Tapp, AIA, NCARB, CFPS, ICC-CAI
Mary Jean Tapp joined Higgins & Associates in mid-2023 as the Head of Architectural Services. She provides technical expertise in building envelope and accessibility related projects, including peer review, forensic investigations, and repair / rehabilitation design. She has over 25 years of experience as an Architect overseeing projects in design and as a third-party consultant for building envelope review and accessibility compliance. She performs third-party review and site observations for projects to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements (ADA, FHA, ANSI A117.1 and UFAS). She also performs building envelope reviews and observations for multi-family construction.
Mary Jean presents to architects and contractors on accessibility compliance in multi-family construction. She is a licensed architect in the states of Colorado and Texas and is an ICC-Certified Accessibility Inspector and Plans Examiner. She is also a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS). She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
